Managing Your Diabetes
Managing diabetes is a comprehensive team effort. We will work closely with your primary care physician and referring specialists to develop a personalized care plan that will help you manage your diabetes better.
Whether you are newly diagnosed with diabetes or have been dealing with it for years, the registered dieticians and registered nurses at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital can help you learn new ways to manage your disease.

St. Mary’s Diabetes Self-Management Program* is for people with type 1, type 2 or gestational diabetes. Information is provided in a group or individual setting on topics recommended by the American Diabetes Association. Medicare and most insurance plans cover part or all of the cost of the program with a medical provider order. For more information, call 573-681-3163 for Jefferson City or 573-582-6091 for Audrain. St. Mary’s offers a prediabetes program to help people learn more about prediabetes and how to minimize risk for progressing to type 2 diabetes. The program is provided in a group setting. No medical provider order is required. The cost is $20 payable by check or cash at the door on the day of the program.
