SSM Health Names Donna Jacobs as President of St. Mary's Hospital - Audrain

Donna Jacobs - President St. Mary's Hospital - Audrain

​Mexico, MO (Nov. 9, 2015) - Following a national search, Donna Jacobs has been named President of SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital – Audrain. Jacobs brings more than 35 years of experience in health care, including the last 25 years in leadership roles.

 

She will officially begin work for SSM Health on Jan. 4, 2016, at the hospital in Mexico, Mo., where Jacobs will be responsible for establishing, maintaining, and continually improving hospital programs and health services throughout the community.

Before joining SSM Health, Jacobs was Medical Center Director/CEO for the Northern Arizona Veterans Affairs Health Care System, where she directed all aspects of planning and organizing medical and administrative operations for acute, ambulatory and rehabilitative care. In that role, Jacobs also led multiple capital improvement projects, including construction of primary care and outpatient clinics; expansion of clinical video conferencing technology; and deployment of mobile clinics across the VA's 60,000 square-mile northern Arizona service area.

 

Prior to her time with the Northern Arizona VA Health Care System, Jacobs worked for the Lexington (Ky.) VA Medical Center, serving as Associate Director/Chief Operating Officer and then Acting Medical Center Director/CEO. She began her career as a critical care staff nurse and later served as a nurse manager in an emergency department.

 

Jacobs received bachelor's and master's of science degrees in nursing from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. She achieved certification at the Fellow level as a healthcare executive through the American College of Healthcare Executives and carries the FACHE credential. Jacobs is active in several professional, academic and community organizations. s
