SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital - Jefferson City Receives Missouri Quality Award from the Excellence in Missouri Foundation

2014 Missouri Quality Award
SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital - Jefferson City, has recently been named a recipient of the Missouri Quality Award presented by the Excellence in Missouri Foundation for the second time.  St. Mary’s was also honored with this prestigious recognition in 2009.

The program, modeled after the prestigious Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, offers a thorough and objective educational process through which an organization can learn and apply quality implementation techniques and assessment methods. The objectives of the Missouri Quality Award are to promote an understanding of the requirements for performance, excellence, and continuous improvement, to stimulate sharing of improvement information on successful performance strategies and to share the benefits derived from using these strategies.

Organizations participating in the award process join a growing number of Missouri organizations that are dedicated to promoting quality as a vital element to enhancing customer satisfaction and operational performance. Through their willingness to help others, the Missouri Quality Award Recipients have encouraged other organizations to undertake their own quality improvement efforts.

"I am so very proud of our entire organization,” said Brent VanConia, President of SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital and Medical Group. “In addition to planning for our move to the new hospital, this recognizes  our team’s commitment to providing the exceptional care and service our patients deserve and expect from us.”
