SSM Mid-Missouri Region has named Stephen Stewart, M.D., MBA, as its regional vice president of medical affairs.
Stewart has been a physician at the St. Mary’s Lake Ozark Medical Clinic and Lake Ozark Urgent Care since 2009. Stewart also serves as medical director of informatics for St. Mary’s, and provided an integral leadership role in the electronic health record implementation the last two years for both the St. Mary’s clinics and the hospital.
In his new role, Stewart will also serve as the medical director for the SSM Mid-Missouri Physician Organization, as well as chief medical Information officer for the SSM Mid-Missouri Region.
Prior to joining St. Mary’s, Stewart worked in family practice and emergency medicine at St. Luke’s Hospital in the Iowa Health System in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was also a senior physician analyst and product manager for McKesson Provider Technologies in Westminster, Colo., prior to joining St. Mary’s.
Stewart received his bachelor’s degree from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, and his masters and medical degree’s from the University of Iowa.
