St. Mary's Foundation to Award $10,000 in Scholarships

St. Mary’s Health Center Foundation will award a maximum of $10,000 in scholarships this spring. The scholarships help students in the community who are enrolled in an academic health-care program or who are pursuing a degree in other allied health care professions.

Applicants must have completed at least half of their program of study and have permanent residence in the hospital’s nine-county service area, which includes Cole, Osage, Miller, Moniteau, Callaway, Gasconade, Maries, Camden and Morgan counties; or be a dependent of an employee of St. Mary’s Health Center. Scholarships will also be available to full-time or part-time employees of St. Mary’s who are seeking education or training to further their technical, medical or professional abilities in health care.

“As a hospital, St. Mary’s has a unique opportunity to identify appropriate needs in the workforce and award scholarships that will advance the expertise of health care workers in mid-Missouri,” said Greg Meeker, chairperson of the St. Mary’s Foundation Scholarship Committee.

Scholarship amounts vary, with a maximum of $1,500 per applicant, per year. The application deadline is April 1, 2014.  Application instructions and forms can be found at or by contacting Beverly Stafford at 761-7198,.
